Spring Time Slump

In a followup to my post of last month (Sorry but that's about as frequent as they get on this blog) we are now starting to get the Spring housing numbers. Hmm just a month ago they were blaming the weather, now what is the problem? The top of this article reads, "Orange County's housing market just had its slowest April in 12 years, although home prices remained virtually unchanged from a year ago, market tracker DataQuick Information Service reported Tuesday."

The spin at the end of the paragraph sounds completely ridiculous to anybody who has any basic economic sense and logically follows the fact in the beginning of that sentence. You can set the price of your house to any fantasy number you want, it's buyers who set the value they are willing to pay. Get over it, the prices of houses were driven up to a ridiculous level by speculators getting in on crazy loans. So good luck to you if you are trying to sell at last year's prices.

Also in case you were wondering, the Skepticklish.com endorsement for president in 2008 is Ron Paul. Keep up the good fight Ron, a little logic and reason should go a long way when the rest of the field seems to have missed out on the last few stages of brain evolution.
