Its sort of like TV commercials. Everybody you meet on the street is going to tell you, "Advertising doesn't affect me at all." So I guess all those sponsors must just be throwing their money away, right? Hmm well that is actually the true power of ads, their ability to affect us without us even being conscious of it. So lobbyists at the very least can get our reps' ears and have time to make their pitch.
So for the first time in US history there is now a lobbyist addressing issues important to Atheist Americans. He is still going to have to go up against the dozens of church and religious-right lobbyists already there but maybe now our reps will at least notice there are quite a few of us out here who aren't too crazy about having our science education standards destroyed. Let's hope he has enough of a budget so he can take the leaders out to dinner at somwhere besides Arbys.

Thanks for reading and for your comments. By eternalism I guess you mean somebody who believes in eternal life, not quite sure I can figure out what the connection with that and Atheism is. But to say Atheism is "far-fetched" would imply that, as a group we are making some big claim that can be discounted. I have addressed it before, theists are the ones making a claim about something, namely that there is one or more supernatural deitys out there, we put the prefix "a" in front of the word because we simply don't make that claim. There is no honus on an Atheist to prove anything since we are not the ones making any "far fetched" statements.
