The conspiracy is normality.

So why do we never have any politicians who take on the system? Why do we never have any journalists who take on the system? Any cops? Civil servants? Administrators of any sort who challenge the status quo? (Ok, yes 'never' is an absolutist word, but since in this case 'almost never' so closely rounds off to never that I don't have a problem using it.)

The answer is not that they are all part of some conspiracy, the answer is that only 'company men' or women can get into the important positions where one can actually change things. So anybody with plans to change the world is essentially selected out in the Darwinian heirarchy.

There is no need to directly censor as hiring biases have already done that job for you. Wackos with opinions like mine are never going to get a daily column in the Times in the first place.

So in comes the web and nuts like me can shout all they want. Some of us are starting to get a few people to listen. The motto of the WWW should be- "Killing normality, one blog at a time."
